Sachin Tendulkar on Wednesday opted out of the Johnnie Walker ICC Super Series of three one-day internationals and one six-day Test in Australia under instructions from the Cricket Board-appointed sports specialist Dr Anant Joshi.

"Dr Anant Joshi, who has been supervising the rehabilitation programme for Sachin Tendulkar's elbow has advised that Sachin should participate in at least one domestic game to evaluate his recovery before participating in competitive cricket.
"Therefore Tendulkar has opted out of the Super Series," said a media release from the BCCI's Executive Secretary in-charge R S Shetty said in Mumbai on Wednesday.
