SAD with INLD in C'garh
The SAD led by Parkash Singh Badal, which has an alliance with the BJP, has decided to support the INLD for lone LS seat in Chandigarh.
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) led by Parkash Singh Badal, which has an alliance with the BJP, has decided to support the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) led by Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala for the lone Lok Sabha seat in Chandigarh.
Chandigarh SAD President Gurpartap Singh Riar told PTI that the decision had been taken due to the indifferent attitude of BJP nominee Satya Pal Jain for the Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat.
"Jain has always discriminated against me and others in the SAD and even institgated party workers to float a rival faction", Riar said adding that in these circumstances it was not possible to support BJP.
Riar said that the SAD would support INLD nominee Harmohan Dhawan.
Meanwhile Jain said that the party would take up the issue with the high command and the SAD President as the two parties have an all-India alliance.
