SC refuses to budge on sealing

The SC declines to extend the Jan 31 deadline for filing affidavits by traders operating from residential premises.

The Supreme Court on Friday refused to extend the deadline of January 31 for filing of affidavits by the traders using residential premises for commercial purposes in the national capital.

The court directed the Centre to place before it the background documents that led to the foundation for the Master Plan for Delhi-2021.

A Bench headed by Justice Arijit Pasayat made it clear that at the moment it was not going into the issue of filing of the affidavits and it was not going to pass any order on the extension of the deadline.

Solicitor General GE Vahanvati informed the court that the MPD was prepared after 12 groups of experts and eminent people were involved in it. The Bench posted the matter for further hearing on February 20.
