Inspired by Rani Mukherjee character in the film ‘Mardaani,’ eight to ten schoolgirls bashed up a girl teaser who had been pestering them for days. The incident took place at Dhundarka village under Afzalpur police station of Mandsaur district.

The girls not only bashed him black and blue, they also got a case registered against him. Later the accused was admitted at Mandsaur’s government hospital.

Afzalpur police station in-charge Dinesh Bhadoriya said all the girls were from the nearby Guliyana village and they bashed up Punamchandra Teli (20) resident of Dhundarka village.

According to the complainants, Teli had been passing lewd comments on them for the past one month. On Monday when the girls were going to the school, Teli started following them and passed comments. The girls lost their patience and they surrounded him and started thrashing him. Teli was so badly beaten up that he had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance. When the parents of the girls received the news they too went to the hospital, but police managed to prevent them from assaulting the boy.

Police have registered case against Teli under Section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 294 (obscene acts and songs) and 11/12 protection of child from sexual offences (POCSO). Teli has not been formally arrested as he is under treatment, TI Bhadoriya added.
