The Hisar police have arrested a local TV journalist on charge of molesting and stalking a 22-year-old woman.

The police said the accused, who works with a Hindi channel, was arrested on Friday night. He was produced in a court on Saturday and was released on bail.
The victim, who had earlier alleged rape by one Vishal Phogat, in her complaint told the police that the accused journalist was stalking her and often used to invite her to his home, claiming that he would help her in getting justice. The victim alleged that when she refused to join him, the accused threatened to defame her.
The police have booked the accused under sections 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), 506 (criminal intimidation), 354-D (stalking) and 294 (any obscene act in public place in annoyance to others) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
