Bharatpur MP Vishwendra Singh, a member of the former royal family, faxed his resignation to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Friday and gave its copy to senior state party leader and National Treasurer Ram Das Agrawal in Delhi, sources in Singh's Bharatpur office said.

However, the party is yet to accept the resignation, and is trying to make him reconsider his decision.

Singh is scheduled to meet senior BJP leaders in Delhi on Saturday, sources added.
