Inspector General of Police (Railway and Traffic) Jagjit Kumar, 57, was found lying in a pool of blood at his house, Shimla Superintendent of Police R.M. Sharma told IANS.

Police said Kumar committed suicide due to his personal problems but his family maintained that he was being harassed by his seniors.

"It is a case of suicide. His service revolver was found lying next to his body. Preliminary investigations indicate that the death took place between 1 a.m. and 1.30 a.m. His family informed police about the incident around 3 a.m.," he said.

Kumar had been suffering from depression due to some personal problems for quite sometime, Sharma said.

However, Kumar's family said that he was under depression as he was being harassed by his seniors, and that was the reason for his suicide.
