The benchmark Sensex recovered by over 67 points in early trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Tuesday on fresh buying by funds in blue-chip stocks, triggered by firming global markets.

The Sensex, which fell by about 63 points on Monday, recovered by 67.17 points at 12,241.08 in the first five minutes of trade.
Similarly, second wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty was up by 21.00 points at 3,544.45.
Major gainers, which supported the Sensex were Reliance Industries, Bajaj Auto, Larsen and Toubro, Tata Consultancy, ACC, Maruti Udyog, Satyam Computers, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, BHEL, Reliance Energy and Dr Reddy's Lab.
