Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front's (JKLF) Mohammad Yasin Malik and Hurriyat (JK) leader Shabir Ahmad Shah have called for complete and state-wide shutdowns on February 9 and 11 to mark the anniversaries.

Bhat was hanged on February 11, 1984, while the Parliament attack convict, Guru, was hanged on February 9, 2013.
Both Bhat and Guru have been buried in Delhi's Tihar jail after their death. A large section of Kashmiri separatists are demanding that their remains be bought back to the Valley for proper burial.
