Valuables worth over Rs 66.25 lakh were recovered from those arrested, Police Commissioner (City) Shankar Bidari told reporters in Bangalore on Thursday.
The Bangladeshis, who worked as a gang and had looted gold ornaments worth Rs Nine lakh from a house in Varthur locality here, were arrested on July 17 by a team led-by Deputy Commissioner of Police B N S Reddy, Bidari said.
The Commissioner announced a cash reward of Rs 10,000 for the team which arrested the seven Bangladeshis, who have been been identified as Mohammad Alamin (26), Kabir (30), Mohammad Vilayat Hussein (26), Syedullah (30), Mohammad Hasan (26), Mohammad Altaf (27) and Mohammad Zakir Malik.
The others arrested include 38-year-old Shanthi, who works as a housemaid. She was allegedly involved in eight cases of theft and gold jewellery worth Rs 12 lakh was recovered from her.
