Yadav said that SEZs would destroy the country’s industrial achievements, resulting in thousands of crores of revenue loss. Besides, SEZs would destroy food security and existing industries, resulting into mass unemployment. It would increase regional imbalances as well. He requested the prime minister to scrap the SEZ Act of 2005 and withdraw the approvals given to SEZ proposals so far.

Yadav accused the SP government of misusing funds under the name of Kanya Vidyadhan, unemployment allowance and saree distribution. He said that JD(U) and Apna Dal would jointly contest local bodies and Assembly elections.

AD president Dr Sonelal Patel said that JD(U) and AD along with several other small parties would come forward to prevent SP from coming into power. He demanded compensation for farmers whose land had been acquired under SEZ.
