Meanwhile, a local court deferred the hearing of the anticipatory bail application of his wife and father.
They were charged with failing to surrender their firearms despite cancellation of licences by the district administration.
Shahabuddin's bail was granted by Justice Mridula Mishra, who overruled the objection of the government advocate S Dayal.
Shahabuddin will, however, remain lodged in the Bhagalpur jail as he yet to get reprieve in five more cases.
A case of power theft was registered against the MP at the Hussainganj police station of Siwan after the matter came to light during a raid at his Pratappur house on April 24 in 2005.
This is one of the seven cases in which the Siwan police have filed chargesheets against him.
In another case, he had been charged with sedition on the basis of recovery of foreign-made firearms and bullets bearing marks of Pakistan ordnance factory during the raids at his residence.
