Hina's father, PK Jain, said Shivanand killed his daughter and the infant. "When he realised, he would not be able to get away, he was forced to commit suicide," he said.

"It was a love marriage, which took place three years ago. My daughter worked as accountant in my school. Shivanand married her with an eye on my property. I told her to part ways with him. I repent she didn't listen to me… I couldn't convince her," Jain said.

"I was against the marriage. I told my daughter that this man was not fit for her. He used to mentally and physically torture her. She complained to me several times. I had told her to divorce him," said Jain.

Family sources said Shivanand had been unemployed for a year. "Shivanand had returned from Jaisalmer on Monday. In the train, too, he attempted suicide by jumping on the tracks, but railway security personnel saved him," said a family member.
