Shirts in vogue

With different styles available in the market, shirts are back with a bang this season, writes Kirti Mehta.

Striped, ruffled, faded and dotted shirts have gone from being staple daywears to a preferred wardrobe in the eyes of fashionistas. The vintage look of 70's is back and ruffled yoke, big collars and puffed sleeves are making the Victorian look a style statement.

Nautical looks have been welcomed with open arms. A striped shirt with plain denim can surely make you look appealing with just a little bit of accessorising. The summer is synonymous with whites. For that casual elegance, team up a plain white shirt with blue jeans or black trousers.

Little detailing like lace and buttons lend the shirts extra oomph and make it more interesting. There are various shirts to choose from in the market, such as the Classic Shirt, the Statement Shirt and the Masculine. And if that bulk is what you’re worried about, go for something more tailored.

Calvin Klein and FCUK have some great shirt styles for all body types. For men, the basic shirt remains trendy but the floral motifs and prints are also selling like hot cakes.

For women, a traditional collar shirt, a great button-down shirt with French cuffs, a stand-up collar shirt with little detailing of pleats, ruffles, ribbons and pussy bow, one of the hottest favourites this season, are sure to make the wardrobe interesting.
