Shoaib Akhtar appeared to be inviting more trouble after he failed to reply in time to a showcause notice by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for violating their contract during the tour of Australia.

A PCB spokesman from Lahore said that till the offices were closed, they had not received any reply from the temperamental fast bowler, whose deadline was this evening.
"We will be in a better position to comment on Tuesday because there is a possibility that he might drop his explanation later in the evening," the spokesman said.
Asked if more trouble was in store for Shoaib, he said it would be premature to answer the question at this stage.
"We are not after Shoaib Akhtar or want to destroy his career. But procedures have to be followed."
Shoaib has been accused of violating the contract on four accounts - nightouts during the Sydney Test, late arrival from Australia, giving statements in the media, and consulting a private trainer instead of a PCB-appointed trainer.
