THE HIGH Court here today directed a lady schoolteacher, resident of district Balaghat, to approach the local police authorities there to get her complaint registered against MLA from Lanji segment and former revenue minister Dileep Bhatere for allegedly sexually harassing her on August 16 last.

THE HIGH Court here today directed a lady schoolteacher, resident of district Balaghat, to approach the local police authorities there to get her complaint registered against MLA from Lanji segment and former revenue minister Dileep Bhatere for allegedly sexually harassing her on August 16 last.

With this direction, Justice A K Mishra disposed of a plea of the teacher Dileshwari Bedre seeking direction to the Balaghat police to lodge FIR against Bhatere under section 376 of Indian Penal Code. The court granted liberty to her to approach the High Court again if the police authorities fail to take action on her complaint. HTC

Female prisoner escapes from custody

UNIDENTIFIED MISCREANTS helped a female prisoner escape from police custody by throwing chilly powder and blinding the cops temporarily. Police sources said Rasheeda Bi had been brought for hearing at the special court from Kanawati jail in Neemuch district on Thursday.

Constable Bagatram and woman constable Kanta Singh were returning from the jail on their motorcycle with Rasheeda Bi when two motorcycle borne youths hit them purposely. They threw chilly powder at them blinding the two cops and took Rasheeda with them. Agencies

Man knocked to death

AN UNIDENTIFIED vehicle knocked a man to death near Khajuri in Bhopal on Friday evening. According to police, a SUV was coming from Ashta to Bhopal and the driver had got out of the vehicle to change a tyre when a speedily driven vehicle hit him.

He came under the vehicle and died on the spot. The deceased was identified as Imran, 25, resident of Congress Nagar. Sources said those inside the SUV were asleep and could not see the killer vehicle. HTC
