Sister Ann Felcie honoured

THE UNIVERSAL Solidarity Movement Award of the Universal Solidarity Movement of Value Education for Peace was today presented to Sister Anne Felcie.
The award function was part of the four-day national seminar being organised by the organisation at the Pastoral Centre here.
The award consisting of a citation and cash of Rs 5001 was handed over to sister Ann by district governor-elect of the Rotary International, Alok Billore. Dr Loretta Pinto, president of USM, chaired the ceremony.
The award acknowledges a woman social worker not recognised or acknowledged by national or state agencies or NGOs.
Sister Ann initiated a number of activities like getting employment for the slum youth and women, starting balwadis for villagers, rehabilitation of homeless from Habibganj Railway Station at Janata Quarters in collaboration with the Housing Board and other such activities.
