Setalvad, convenor of the NGO Citizen for Justice and Peace (CJP) and one of the co-complainants in the Zakia Jaffrey case, met SIT chief R K Raghavan in this regard.
"We met Raghavan to discuss the witness protection programme and some other issues. He will be giving us the schedule for recording statement of Jaffrey and me, who are the complainants in the matter," the activist told PTI in Ahmedabad.
Based on their statements, SIT would decide on the witnesses, whose statement should be recorded next, she said.
The SIT had on Tuesday filed an affidavit in the Gujarat High Court saying that no statement has been recorded so far in the matter, but claimed that it was taking steps to record statements of witnesses to find out the truth.
The Apex Court on April 27 directed SIT to "look into" Jaffrey's complaint which alleged that Modi, his cabinet colleagues, police officials and senior bureaucrats aided and abetted post-Godhra riots of 2002, and asked it to "take steps required as per law".
