Six killed, 37 injured in Kerala road accident

Seventeen of the injured were admitted to the Kottayam Medical College and others at hospitals in Peerumedu and Kanjirappally.

Six people were killed and 37 injured, three of them seriously, when a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus overturned and fell into Azhutha River at Peermedu in Idukki districton Monday night.

Police said the deceased were identified as Sivanandan (42), a native of Kootikkal, Mathai (53) of Murinjapuzha, Wilson (45) of Chemmanam, and Ajmal Khaja of Kambam in Tamil Nadu.

The two unidentified people were said to be from Tamil Nadu.
