A LIGHT and sound programme at the Chandrashekhar Azad statue is likely to start during the second week of the Ardh Kumbh Mela here in January 2007. On Wednesday, Justice AK Yog, along with Allahabad Development Authority (ADA) chief engineer, RP Shukla, executive engineer, RL Sharma, assistant engineer, KP Singh and others officials, inspected the site and discussed about constructing an open air theatre to start the light and sound programme.

On Wednesday, Justice AK Yog, along with Allahabad Development Authority (ADA) chief engineer, RP Shukla, executive engineer, RL Sharma, assistant engineer, KP Singh and others officials, inspected the site and discussed about constructing an open air theatre to start the light and sound programme.
A high-level meeting, which is likely to be attended by senior government officials, advocate general and chief standing counsel, will be held in Lucknow on December 10 in this regard. The ADA has presented a revised budget of Rs 82.33 lakh for installing the programme. On December 16, a team of engineers, led by renowned director and producer Shankar Suhail from New Delhi, will also visit the site here to take stock of the situation and start construction work.
The High Court had directed the ADA and district administration authorities to start the programme from the 2007 Ardha Kumbh Mela. Usha Enterprises has been given the task of installing the required equipments for the programme. The place for a gallery in the open air theatre and patch work over nullah situated inside the park was also finalised during the inspection.
