Sonepat police step up vigil to thwart any terror threat
In view of apprehensions of terror strikes in and around the NCR in the run up to the Independence day, vigilance has been stepped up by the Sonepat police.
In view of apprehensions of terror strikes in and around the National Capital Region in the run up to the Independence day, vigilance has been stepped up by the Sonepat police all over the district.

Following specific instruction from the state headquarters, several steps have been taken to prevent any untoward incident, District Police Chief Navdeep Singh Virk told media persons in Sonepat on Thursday.
"Check-posts have already been set up at various points in the city and elsewhere in the district and registers are being maintained for details of vehicles and their drivers for verification. Moreover, the SHOs of all the police stations have been directed to increase police presence in their respective jurisdiction," he said.
People in the state have been asked to cooperate with the police to prevent terror attacks.
42 motorcycle riders and 12 PCR vans have been deployed in different parts of the city as a precautionary measure.
