Sonia works from Cong office after a gap
After a gap Congress President Sonia Gandhi works from her office at the AICC headquarters, reports Saroj Nagi.
After a gap Congress President Sonia Gandhi worked from her office at the AICC headquarters at 24 Akhar Road on Monday when she called Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Monday to discuss the strategy for the assembly elections in the state and met other party workers.

Given the high security required for her, the complex is out of bounds when Sonia works from the AICC. In order not to inconvenience the ordinary workers who come from distant places to meet the AICC officebearers, the Congress chief has been functioning from her 10 Janpath residence for some weeks now, visiting the headquarters for party functions as she did for the Congress’ Foundation Day celebrations on December 28, 2006.
Sonia’s visit figured at the party’s regular briefing. Quizzed about the last time Sonia had worked from the headquarters, spokesman Satyavrat Chaturvedi said that the Congress president visits "her office periodically, now and then."
Sonia spent four hours meeting people she had given an appointment. She met Amarinder Singh and Punjab state unit chief SS Dullo, held talks with Uttarakhand leaders Harish Rawat and Satpal Maharaj, Uttar Pradesh leaders, including Mahila Congress chief Rita Bahugana Joshi and former Haryana chief minister Bhajan Lal.
