Spicy and the suave: Mallika and Karan
Yes, the unusual pair will host an awards show in Mauritius this weekend.
Mallika Sherawat and Karan Johar! That's right, Bollywood's oomph girl and the director team up to host the LIC-Zee Cine Awards to be held this Saturday in sunny Mauritius.
While this is Mallika's first time as a host, Karan has hosted such events two times before. The awards ceremony will be held at the Swami Vivekananda International Convention Centre.
Those who have seen Karan's hit TV talk show Koffee with Karan know that Mallika was the hot topic of discussion in more than one episode.
Karan was a judge on Sony's Indian Idol where he shared 'scream' space with Hollywood actor Will Smith, is unfortunately having a voice problem.
"The doctors have diagnosed it to be laryngitis. I am getting over it. But I sound like someone completely different. What am I supposed to do? Now I am supposed to host another awards function. I don't know how I'll do it!" Karan told IANS.
Arjun Rampal, Konkona SenSharma and Gulshan Grover are the other celebrity hosts for the show that promises to be a starry affair with Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukerji and Priyanka Chopra performing.
