Under the scheme, the Sports Department will provide mobile vans to each GYK that will scout for the potential sportspersons in tribal areas.

Minister Sports Yashodhararaje Scindia has had a meeting with collectors and SPs of the districts where this scheme will be launched in the first phase namely - Seoni, Shahdol, Anuppur, Chhindwara, Shivpuri Umaria, Hoshangabad, Barwani, Burhanpur, Betul and Khargone.

According to director sports Sanjay Chaudhary, the department had earlier this year organised a special talent hunt scheme for the tribal youths.

“Gramin Yuva Kendra (GYK) is paradigm for the welfare of the rural youths. We want to bring them into the mainstream sports activities”, said Chaudhary.

Later the GYKs will be opened in seven other districts.
