SSP?s bad tongue leaves juniors angry!
RESENTMENT IS brewing among the lower-rung police officials these days. But, why? Because the commander often loses temper and uses bad language against them, they allege.
RESENTMENT IS brewing among the lower-rung police officials these days.
But, why? Because the commander often loses temper and uses bad language against them, they allege.

“This is too much,” says a cop indicating that the angry SSP may face an embarrassing situation any day. “There is limit to everything. Hurling expletives at us doesn’t behoove the officer of his rank,” says another, giving a glimpse of the levels to which the mercury has risen.
But, this resentment is not confined to the lower-rung officers alone. Even deputy SP-rank officers feel the same way. Unable to cope with the situation, a few of them have opted to get them transferred from the Lucknow district while application of others for the same was lying with the DGP Headquarters.
Unlike other government departments, the policemen are supposed to be a disciplined force and they cannot raise their voice in favour of their demand. Therefore, the policemen could not go to top cops to register their complaint.
On condition of anonymity, a group of cops contacted the HT Lucknow Live and narrated their woes. The aggrieved cops said the police chief lost his temper while attending the weekly parade at the Reserve Police Lines on Friday morning.
They alleged that the ‘commander’ hurled expletives at the subordinates who were not seen in complete uniform at the parade.
The cops disclosed a recent incident, which took place during the parade. They said a few of the constables were not wearing the brown shoes, which are compulsory during parade. The SSP, who was inspecting the troop, suddenly went angry and allegedly started hurling abuses at the ‘erring’ policemen.
The senior cop even did not spare a senior inspector rank official whose retirement was due shortly. The constables lamented that they are supposed to get shoes from the Police Lines but there was no stock available for past several years. Despite getting the fact checked with the concerned Police Lines officials, the SSP misbehaved with them. The policemen further alleged that the top cop is known to shout at his subordinates in a humiliating manner always.
On the other hand, the sub-inspector (S-I), inspector and Dy SP rank officials too were facing humiliating conduct from the senior cop during frequent meetings. The top cop allegedly abuses his sub-ordinates on one or another pretext while talking to them over a matter. These officials have no option left but to get them transferred from Lucknow to avoid the humiliation.
