Gopal Kumar Tiwari went missing from his residence at Kodma-Sonari Link Road area in the steel city since Wednesday night, Dr Swaran Singh, a nodal officer to monitor swine flu cases, said.

Dr Singh said Tiwari's family members were advised to admit him in the isolation ward of the Tata Main hospital, but they did not do so.

Tiwari's throat swab samples were sent to Kolkata on last Sunday and it was confirmed that he had contracted the H1N1 virus, the doctor said.
