As soon as the train arrived at Mananpur railway station, some students tried to forcibly board its AC coach without valid tickets, Superintendent of Railway Police (SRP), Jamalpur Gopal Prasad said.

On being checked, some of them resorted to stone pelting and damaged an AC coach of Patna-bound inter city express. They also cut off its hose pipe before leaving the railway station, he said.

Some passengers suffered minor injuries in stone pelting, the SRP official said, adding they were given first aid at the railway station itself.

Service on Keul Jhaha section was disrupted and several trains were running behind schedule due to the incident, a railway official said.
