Surinam envoy seeks business partners
INDIA IS a reservoir of knowledge and expertise, according to Surinam envoy in India Krishna Dutta Baijnath. He made this observation while addressing a felicitation function organised by Mother India Club and Indo-Global Chamber of Commerce, in his honor here today. The Surinam envoy exhorted the people of India to visit his country for exploring business opportunities and also stressed the need for enhancing cultural relations between the two countries.

The Surinam envoy exhorted the people of India to visit his country for exploring business opportunities and also stressed the need for enhancing cultural relations between the two countries.
“India is a reservoir of knowledge and expertise”, he said and added, he had been telling the people of his country about this.
“Of course I am an Indian. We are looking for Honorary Council”, he said. “Honorary council could be appointed within the frame work of Indian legislation.”
An overwhelmed Surinam ambassador said people of Surinam wanted to ensure interaction with the Indian people.
Prof Prabhakar Jha, former Indian diplomat, said that non-resident Indians had a strong belief in religion. He also requested for setting up of the Honorary Council of Surinam in Varanasi.
Prof HS Bajpai, former director of the Institute of Medical Science (IMS) in Banaras Hindu University (BHU) also dwelt on the occasion.
Earlier, chairman of the Indo-Global Chamber of Commerce Ajay Singh, who has been to Surinam several times, called upon the entrepreneurs of Varansai to explore business possibilities in Surinam.
