The victim, Indra Kumar Sao, who had a grocery shop on Chowka-Kandra Road, was at his shop last night when three
motor-cycle borne youths arrived and one of them pumped in three bullets, the sources said.

Sao was immediately rushed to Tata Main Hospital, Jamshedpur, where doctors declared him dead, sources said.

Confirming the incident, Police superintendent Abhisekh Kumar said the possibility of Maoists involvement behind the
incident could not be ruled out. A massive search operation have been launched to track down the culprits, he added.

Asked about reports of involvement of two naxals, who fled from Saraikela jail on Wednesday last, Kumar said no such
clue was established as yet.
