September kicks off with a slew of new high-tech product launches including the Samsung Galaxy Gear, the company's long-awaited smartwatch but the big event of the month looks set to be the unveiling of the next-generation iPhone, expected on September 10.
Samsung Galaxy Note III phablet and Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch launch event
The South Korean tech company is hosting a special event in Berlin to reveal its latest phablet and smartwatch to the world. The Samsung Galaxy Note III is expected to boast a pocket-bursting 6-inch screen and capture video in ultra-high definition while the Galaxy Gear smartwatch is expected to be less of a technological milestone -- only syncing with other Samsung devices -- and more of a high-tech fashion statement.
Sony Xperia Z1 press launch
Not to be outdone by one of its biggest rivals, Sony is also debuting its latest flagship phone ahead of the IFA consumer electronics conference. The Japanese company has been coy so far on specifics but expect an elegant 5-inch+ display, a water-resistant exterior and leading-edge photo and imaging technology that will put standalone digital cameras to shame.
Ars Electronica Festival 2013
Now in its 34th year, the Ars Electronica Festival is as much an examination as it is a celebration of technology, art and society. Widely regarded as one of the world's most important media art festivals, this year's event is all about memory and memories, how they are created and the impact that they have on our lives.

In 2012 the "world's leading trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances" attracted 240,000 visitors and was responsible for generating business worth €3.8 billion. This year is expected to be no different as the 142,000-square-meter Messe Berlin ExpoCenter plays host to this year's event.
TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2013
A gathering of exciting technology start-ups, influential speakers and star technology guests. One of the highlights will be the ‘Battlefield' where budding tech entrepreneurs compete for seed funding to help make the high-tech ideas a reality.
September 10 (rumored)
The tech world's eyes will be firmly fixed on an undisclosed location somewhere in California to watch Apple CEO Tim Cook take to the stage where he is expected to unveil not one, but two new iPhones. A 5S phone is rumored to pack a serious processing punch and to feature an embedded fingerprint scanner, while a 5C is expected to forsake expensive metal alloys for a colorful polycarbonate finish and to be aimed at emerging markets and at consumers who want smartphones but without a service contract.
Inside 3D Printing
Wired's editor in chief believes that 3D printing will lead to the second industrial revolution, such is its power and its possibilities. The event will see architects, fashion designers, futurists and a committed band of 3D makers coming together to exchange ideas and listen to keynotes from a number of specialists including Autodesk CEO Carl Bass.
World Smart Week
Combining a number of smaller exhibitions and conferences focused on, among other things, NFC and digital security technologies, the event is expected to attract 1700 business demonstrating new advances in mobile and wireless payments, connectivity and other mobile proximity services.
Nokia Mystery event

The Finnish phonemaker is gearing up for a surprise event in New York and while there are currently no concrete details of what to expect, all of the rumors, reports and insider gossip point to the launch of a new handset and a new Nokia-branded tablet. Watch this space.
INTEROP New York

CES Unveiled PARIS
The first time the event comes to Paris. CES Unveiled is a showcase of the best that France has to offer in the world of consumer electronics devices and will also serve as a preview to the Consumer Electronics Association's official International CES conference, which officially opens its doors in Las Vegas on January 7, next year.
