The Charkop police said, Romit Nair was the only son of the proprietor of a finance consultancy. He was in Class 11 studying science from a college in Kandivli.

He left for college around 1 pm on Tuesday for his exam. But when he did not reach home, his parents became worried and informed the police. Romit went to the terrace of a building in Dahanukar Wadi, about a kilometre away from his residence, and committed suicide.

Investigating officer of the case Hanumant Wadrade said, “While his parents were hunting for him, he went to the Puspha Paradise around 8.30 pm. When the watchman there asked him where he wanted to go, he said that he was going to visit the residents of flat no 203.”

Nair went straight to the terrace. After sitting there for an hour he reportedly jumped down. “It is a clear case of suicide. We still do not know the motive as he left no suicide note. His parents are not in a condition to talk about the incident. We will be conducting enquiries to find out the motive,” said Senior Police Inspector Purshottam Gawande.
