Telangana crisis: TDP's parliamentary party leader resigns

TDP's Parliamentary party leader and Khammam MP Nama Nageswara Rao resigned from his post on Thursday in protest against the Centre's latest move to put the Telangana statehood issue on the back-burner.

TDP's Parliamentary party leader and Khammam MP Nama Nageswara Rao resigned from his post on Thursday in protest against the Centre's latest move to put the Telangana statehood issue on the back-burner.

Though initially Nageswara Rao did not come forward to put in his papers, he bowed down to the demand of his constituents and sent his resignation to the party President N Chandrababu Naidu this afternoon, party sources said.

TDP MP from Adilabad Ramesh Rathod, meanwhile, told PTI that he had sent his resignation to the party president and also to Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar.
