The five, Dr Irfan Khan, Asif Iqbal, Mohmmed Naseem, Mohd Aziz and Shakeel, had earlier been remanded to police custody by the court for questioning regarding the case and their police remand expired on Wednesday.

The terrorists were sent to Faizabad divisional jail for the remand period by the Chief Judicial Magistrate.

Security forces had foiled the July 5 attack on the temple complex killing five terrorists.

Irfan Khan was arrested in Delhi and rest four were arrested by Jammu and Kashmir police last month in Poonch district.
