What’s the difference

* Sea salt, produced by evaporation of sea water, contains some minerals, but in such small amounts that they are nutritionally insignificant. They do add colour and taste.

* Table salt, mined from underground salt deposits, is more
heavily processed. Most has added iodine, an essential nutrient that is available naturally in only minute amounts in sea salt.

* Both contain sodium chloride, which most of us get more of than we need, so go easy on salt, whichever type you use.
