Three CRPF troopers killed in ambush in Kashmir

Three paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were killed and one was critically injured in a guerrilla ambush in north Kashmir's Sopore town Wednesday, a CRPF spokesperson said.

Three paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were killed and one was critically injured in a guerrilla ambush in north Kashmir's Sopore town Wednesday, a CRPF spokesperson said.

The spokesperson told IANS that a patrol party of the CRPF was ambushed by militants at Warpora locality in north Kashmir's Sopore town, 54 km from here.

"Two CRPF jawans were killed in the ambush while one died in the hospital. One is critically injured. Additional police and paramilitary forces have been rushed to the spot and the area has been cordoned off," the spokesperson said.

No guerrilla outfit has owned responsibility for the attack.

The police had earlier said that four paramilitary troopers had died in the attack.
