Tight bundobast at rly stations for pilgrims
SENIOR OFFICIALS of the North Central Railway (NCR), Northern Railway (NR) and North-Eastern Railway (NER) gathered at DSA Ground on Tuesday to review the preparations of forthcoming Ardh Kumbh Mela.

SENIOR OFFICIALS of the North Central Railway (NCR), Northern Railway (NR) and North-Eastern Railway (NER) gathered at DSA Ground on Tuesday to review the preparations of forthcoming Ardh Kumbh Mela.
The meeting was convened by General Manager, NCR, Budh Prakash. Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Allahabad, NCR SK Choudhary, DRM Lucknow (NR), RK Gupta and DRM Varanasi, (NER) Shailendra Tripathi also addressed the meeting.
Discussing about the security aspect of the railway passengers, the officers decided that in all the divisions, Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RFP) personnel will be deputed, as per requirement. Besides, sniffer dogs to be deputed at Prayag station, Prayag Ghat station in Daraganj, Allahabad Junction station and Naini Junction station will add 'teeth' to the force.
Besides, the officers decided to have strict vigilance over the ongoing activities at the railway stations. For the purpose, two CCTV will be installed at Allahabad Junction, one at Prayag, one at Allahabad city and two at Naini stations.
It addition to this, it was discussed that Allahabad and Jhansi divisions will introduce 20-coach trains, while, 11 special trains with 18 coaches in Lucknow division and 26 special trains with 18 coaches in NER will be introduced, during mela. Besides, the NCR will run four pair of EMU.
Various other issues were also discussed including arrangement of scouts and guides to help the passengers, setting up of lost and found camp, besides, provision of power vans in Allahabad and Lucknow divisions.
