TV Narendran is new Tata Steel MD

Tata Steel on Thursday named TV Narendran as managing director-designate, India and South East Asia, and has inducted him as additional director on the board. Narendran is currently vice-president, safety and flat products. HT reports.

Tata Steel on Thursday named TV Narendran as managing director-designate, India and South East Asia, and has inducted him as additional director on the board. Narendran is currently vice-president, safety and flat products.

The incumbent managing director (MD) HM Nerurkar is due to retire next month.

The board has also appointed group chief financial officer Koushik Chatterjee as the group executive director, finance and corporate. Chatterjee was earlier seen as favourite to succeed Nerurkar.

With effect from November 1, Karl Koehler, MD and CEO at Tata Steel Europe, Narendran and Chatterjee will all report to chairman Cyrus Mistry, Tata Steel said in a statement to the exchanges.
