The Bharatiya Janata Party appeared to be at peace after party leader LK Advani agreed to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Gandhinagar and dropped the idea of fighting from Bhopal. Advani spared the BJP the blushes, but on Twitter, the damage was already done.

Tweets criticising and poking fun at Advani for his latest 'sulk' began flowing from Wednesday, when the BJP announced he would contest from Gandhinagar, and continued till Thursday morning, when party leaders made a beeline for his house in Delhi.

Sample this: @jhunjhunwala tweeted, "LK Advani's election seat is turning out to be more dramatic than an Ekta Kapoor serial."

Another Twitter handle, @varungrover, tweeted: "Advani ji is BJP's personal 3rd front."

Tweets did not spare the former deputy prime minister even when he formally announced he was sticking to the Gandhinagar constituency.
