CID, claiming to have enough evidence against the duo, has demanded remand of Akela and Tomar.

ABVP would address a press conference at 2:30 pm in Jaipur in this regard.

On Wednesday, Shashi Ranjan Akela and Vimal Tomar surrendered before the Dewas Gate police.

Five others were earlier arrested by the police in connection with the attack and were released on bail.

Both are presently in custody in the district jail and have been booked under Section 147, 148 and 149 for rioting.

Shashi Ranjan Akela and activist Vimal Tomar had indulged in violent activities, assaulting professors of the Madhav College in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.

Professor Sabharwal was supervising students' union elections and was attacked by students, allegedly ABVP activists, after he cancelled polls following allegations of irregularities.

He later died and a post-mortem report confirmed that he sustained two broken ribs and lung injuries that caused his death, police said.

A peon, an eyewitness to the attack on the professor during students' elections, said that he was attacked by a mob of 25-30 people and that no one had come forward to help him.
