Two Central Govt employees get jail terms for graft

A Special CBI Court today convicted two Central Government employees in separate corruption cases.

A Special CBI Court on Tuesday convicted two Central Government employees in separate corruption cases.

The Judge sentenced DK Rama Rao, an Accounts Officer, to four-year rigorous imprisonment. He was working in Defence Control Accounts (DCA) office at Secunderabad near Hyderabad.

Rao was caught taking a bribe of Rs 12,000 from a person for some official work in 2003, the prosecution said.

In the other case, G Venkata Ramana, a Junior Telecom Officer, was handed down two-year rigorous jail term by the court.

Ramana was working in Mydukur telephone exchange in Kadapa district, when he was trapped by CBI in 2004 while accepting Rs 15,00 as bribe.
