Two dengue deaths, 169 afffected in Bihar

Two people have died of dengue while 169 have been affected in the districts of Munger, Begusarai and Patna in Bihar till yesterday, an official said today.

Stating this, director-in-chief, Health Service R N Pandey told PTI on Wednesday that civil surgeons across the state had been provided with anti-dengue kits and directed to open control rooms to monitor dengue cases.

Four hospitals -- Jawharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital, Bhagalpur, Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), Jayaprabha hospital, Patna and Mahavir Cancer Seva Sansthan in Patna had been directed to store adequate stock of platelets, he said.

Principal Secretary Health, C K Mishra said municpal corporations had been directed to ensure proper sanitation, regular fogging and spraying of bleaching powder on streets and drain out accumulated water.
