Two persons killed, 15 injured in accident

Two members of a marriage party were killed and 15 others injured when the van in which they were travelling overturned in Orissa's Mayurbhanj district on Saturday, police said.

The mishap took place at Kumbharamundakata, 25 km from Baripada, when the van returning to Rajaloka village near Baripoda after the marriage ceremony lost control near a sharp turn and overturned, they said.

While two persons, identified as Basudeb Naik (21) and Krishna Naik (22) died on the spot, 15 others sustained injuries in the mishap and were admitted to the district headquarter hospital here, police said.

The driver of the vehicle was missing after the accident and efforts were on to trace him.
