Two Pune builders, corporator held in land grabbing case

Two city builders and two others including a corporator have arrested in connection with a case of alleged land grabbing at Balewadi, near Pune, police said on Friday.

Two city builders and two others including a corporator have arrested in connection with a case of alleged land grabbing at Balewadi, near Pune, police said on Friday.

The accused held last night are Ramkumar Agarwal, Ravindra Sankla, both builders, and Rajesh Pillay, a member of the neighbouring Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) and Ajay Bhosale, a former corporator of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

According to Pune CID unit which initiated the action in the case, the four persons were booked on the basis of a complaint filed by one Pradeep Dorje who had accused them of forcibly acquiring the 2.6 acre plot of land located opposite Shiv Chhatrapati Sports complex at Balewadi, about 25 km from the city.

The charges against the accused include criminal conspiracy, trespass and concealment of property.

The former PMC corporator Bhosale had fought the last state assembly election on Shiv Sena ticket.
