Additional Sessions Judge (Mahila Court) Swaran Kanta also ordered the convicts Pappu Kumar Singh and Sagar Narain Jha - both in their 20s and natives of Bihar - to pay a fine of Rs 5,000 each after finding them guilty of having committed the henious offence in the "most inhuman and barbaric manner."
On the intervening night of April 30 / May 1, 1998, at a jhuggi in Mangolpuri, Singh and Jha took the victim alongwith her cot on which she was fast asleep and raped her in a nearby park after shutting her mouth.
The youth then threatened to kill her if she disclosed the incident to anyone. But she told her uncle about the same, who took her to the police station where she later identified the accused.
