Uma Bharti to meet CEC on Monday

Expelled BJP leader Uma Bharti, who plans to launch her own political party, will meet Chief Election Commissioner BB Tandon on Monday, her aide said on Sunday.

"She will be meeting Tandon at the Election Commission office here tomorrow," he said, but did not elaborate on what she will discuss with the CEC.

Bharti, who intends to form her proposed party on Hindutva ideology, however, has dropped plans to stake claim on the lotus symbol of BJP from where she was expelled for her outbursts against senior party leaders.

At a rally in Delhi on March 21, Bharti had said she would launch her party on April 30.
