According to reports, residents of South Malaka locality spotted a large suitcase lying in a drain under the local railway bridge on Friday morning. Foul smell from the suitcase made them suspicious following which they informed the cops. Cops recovered the body of a woman aged between 20 and 25 years. The body had begun to decompose suggesting that the victim was killed 3-4 days ago. A portion of the woman’s cheeks and eyes were missing leading the cops to suspect that it was a case of brutal murder.
The police didn’t find any documents from the body that could help them ascertain the victim’s identity. Inspector MM Ansari said that photographs of the body have been sent to all police stations of the district. “We will decide the line of investigation after receiving the autopsy report. At present, the focus is on establishing the identity of the victim,” he added.
