The bodies of Taheb Husain, 5, and Salman Shekh, 7, found in the car of a VHP activist Jagdish Pankit on Thursday, were taken to SSG Hospital at Baroda for autopsy and would be later handed over to the respective families, they added.

Authorities have made elaborate security arrangements in the area and extra precaution was being taken in view of Friday prayers.

District Collector Rajeev Topno and Special IGP Rakesh Asthana, camping in the town, have held meeting with community leaders and urged them to maintain peace.

Reports from Dabhoi had said that Pankit himself had informed police about the bodies in his car which had been lying unused for the past several years.
