
Varsity wants students insured!
ARE YOU insured? If not then take admission to Lucknow University in the next session.
The Lucknow University Executive Committee has mooted a proposal to insure all the students taking admission to its various courses from the next session. In a meeting on Monday evening LU executive committee has passed an important resolution over the insurance of students from next session.
According to Pro Vice Chancellor RS Yadav the proposal would be forwarded to the final approval of the government.
Member of executive committee Naresh Chandra the proposal would benefit the poor students in future.
After the central status to Allahabad University, it is getting the grant by centre. The grant by the State Government is just pending. However, a few days back half of the state grant to AU was diverted to Agra University. The executive committee has proposed the State Government to give the remaining 50 per cent of pending AU grant to LU for its further development.
A proposal of holding the convocation in LU and its affiliated colleges on the same day has also been passed.
Presently, the LU affiliated colleges are not holding the convocation separately.
Meanwhile Lucknow University Teachers Association (LUTA) has demanded starting of a special university bus service from old campus to new campus.
According to LUTA president, Dr DP Tewari the university teachers and students face number of difficulties in traveling between new and old campus.
The LU teachers body has also demanded installation of computers in each department with the facility of Internet.
