Virbhadra presents Himachal Pradesh general budget
Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh today presented general budget for 2013 in state assembly budget session. Virbhadra announced skill development allowance of Rs 1000 for unemployed youth between the age of 25 to 30 years and doubled value added tax (VAT) from 18 to 36 per cent. He also announced 80 per cent subsidy on anti-hail nets and Rs two lakhs discretionary fund for each MLA. Another major announcement was that milk to cost Rs 1 more.
