Vivekananda Puri ward boasts of posh areas like Vivekanandapuri Colony, Vivekananda Hospital, Sector A Mahanagar, Sector C and Sector D Mahanagar, Bada Chandganj, Old Mahanagar, Gopal Purva, Telephone Colony, Rahim Nagar , IT College Crossing.

RESIDENT OF the ward NK Asthana complains, “There is problem of encroachment in front of and under the IT College over bridge. Squatters have
occupied the space below the over bridge obstructing the traffic.”

“We are living in the best ward but there are no sewer lines,” laments Shambhu Agarwal.

“Water supply in this VVIP area is bad; we receive water for only two hours a day,” says Shailja Sinha, adding, “There is also the problem of water logging due to poor drainage.”

Corporator Savita Singh says she has served the ward to the best of her abilities. Despite being a woman, she never shirked public service sending her husband or someone else from her family instead.

“I got five tubewells installed in the ward to solve water problem in my ward.

Water supply is much better than in other wards; similarly, roads are better than in any other ward,” she claims.

“There is no sewer line in my ward but it requires great investment. I have already put forth my proposal with the LMC for the last five years but it has no funds for laying sewer lines. This time I am contesting elections with the promise of sewer line and change of water lines in the area. I will ensure this, if I win the election,” she adds.
